EnTech
EnTech is an after-school program focusing on engineering and technology that meets at Greenville Technical College in Greenville, South Carolina.
Our main programs are our three FIRST robotics competition teams.
The program is made possible by the dedication of our mentors and volunteers, generous funding from Michelin, facilities provided by Greenville Technical College, laser cutting donated by Laserflex, various services and support provided by Greenville Technical Charter High School, funding for one event provided by Greenville County Schools, and student fundraising.
Although Greenville Technical Charter High School is our official high school sponsor, EnTech is open to all public, private, and home-schooled high school students from the upstate.
We also have a robotics team for elementary and middle school students.
FIRST
FIRST (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology) is a national organization whose mission is "to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership."
Their main programs are the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), FIRST LEGO League (FLL), and Junior FIRST LEGO League (JFLL), but they also hold traveling workshops and camps.
Every year, FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), FIRST LEGO League (FLL), and Junior FIRST LEGO League (JFLL) each has as different game.
For FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), this year's game is called Breakaway.
